Jen Rules the Seasons

The main meeting this Wednesday was at Canterbury with a heavy track so was'nt expecting much but there were a few, worth the mention. The first one was the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Jen Rules. Then the following two races produced some quality as well, with the last of the High Chaparral's in Thinkin Big successful and the Sebring's continued their stellar run with the filly Seasons, blowing them away.

Jen Rules -- This Redoutes Choice filly, looked strong with a last ditch lunge which gained her the verdict, over the Zoustar filly, Mizzy. I can see her improving in dryer conditions and maybe a bigger track. She is out of the Encosta De Lago mare, Fate Rules. She was sold at the 2017 Inglis Easter yearling sales for $500,000. Runner up worth keeping an eye on as well.
Thinkin Big -- The Waterhouse /Bott trained colt, scored over 1100m pointing to a positive future for the last of the High Chaparral's. The short trip and tight track would not have been to his liking so to come up with a victory was a noteworthy effort. Jockey Blake Shinn was also very impressed by the colt and Adrian Bott said an ATC Derby was definately on their radar next Autumn.  While Blake scored again, in the following race, with the Sebring filly, Seasons, trained by Les Bridge. He controlled the race from the front on her and kicked clear on straightening for an easy win. She is out of the Al Maher mare, Acoumplamas which makes her a half sister to the promising I Am Invincible colt, The August.

Run Gypsy Run -- In the benchmark 78 for fillies and mares at Echuca saw this Fastnet Rock mare, get home by a breath, she loves it when she can control from the front and a great ride by Michael Walker saw her prevail . She may not be a real consistent proposition but on her day has some ability.
Okay Boss -- In the Super Vobis two year old event over 1200m at Echuca we saw the Street Boss gelding, Okay Boss get home. This made it his second win at the 1200m. The breed really do excel over it. He was ridden by Chris Parnham and is out of the Bel Esprit mare, Belaura. Chris also scored with the 4yo mare, Miss Siska, for Tony Mcevoy in race 6, under 61kg. The So You Think mare is in excellent form this prep. Later in the day the win of Liberty Song over the 1200 was worth a mention as the 4yo gelding is out of the Bel Esprit mare, Music in the Park.

Sebring Stands at Widden Stud

Sebring - Widden Stud

"A Champion Two-Year-Old and Golden Slipper heros by two-time Champion Champion Sire of Two-Year-Olds More Than Ready, Sebring is one of Australia's most exciting young sires." Sebring is out of a mare by Flying Spur, a son of Danehill, but has done well when crossed over mares from other branches of Danzig.
