Scandal and Melody

Midweek racing this week were at the tight circuits of Canterbury and Moonee Valley. While in Queensland we saw another possible two year old star by Zoustar, in Zoustyle, trounce his rivals at Doomben by five lengths.
Smart Melody -- The Smart Missile filly exploded away from her opposition on straightening which surprised jockey Brenton Avdulla and after the race said "he had'nt seen one show that much turn of foot in awhile."Kris Lees could have a contender for some spring prizes here.
Sepoy and I Am Invincible --In an earlier race we saw Yarraman Park Stallion, I Am Invincible record his 19th two year old winner for the season with Ducale scoring. This puts the stallion clear for the most two year old winners this season . Following yesterdays win at Wyong by 2yo colt, Salsa Man. Ducale is out of the group three winning daughter of Galileo, Saint Minerva. Jockey Jay Ford was impressed by her improvement from last start. The first on the card saw the Sepoy filly, Sweet Scandal ridden by Blake Shinn victorious even though she didnt appear to handle the wet conditions. She is out of that good producing Encosta De Lago mare, Bachanal Woman. Which makes her a half to Chris Waller's other good galloper, Sir Bachus.
Bel Esprit --At the Valley saw the sprinting prowess of the Bel Esprit's come to the fore. Jockey Craig Williams in the first over 1200m got the Shea Eden, Bright Eyes home. After not handling the real heavy track at Swan Hill last start. The breed do go well at the Valley and it wasnt long in the day before they had another winner when Belwazi continued on her winning way with young Stephanie Thornton in the saddle. Todays 1000m dash gives the four year old mare, six wins from twelve starts.
